Wheaten Straw

Wheat (Triticum spp) is one of the first cereals known to be domesticated, and is grown on more land area than any other crop worldwide. Wheaten straw is the agricultural by-product of wheat grain production.

Consisting of the plant stalk, wheat straw has many uses and benefits:

  • As the roughage component of a livestock feed ration
  • Animal bedding
  • Minor feed option to prevent erosion in confined areas
  • Greatly reduces costs and stretches feed resources when combined with high quality oaten hay.
